Ordinance 1605ORDINANCE NO. 1605 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON AMENDING THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF SAID CITY, BEING CHAPTER 11. 04 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE, BY THE ADOPTION OF THE 1971 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AND EXCEPTING CERTAIN OCCUPANCIES FROM THE REQUIREMENT OF METALLIC RACEWAY INSTALLATION IN FIRE ZONE ONE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Edmonds Electrical Code is hereby amended by updating the same with the adoption of the 1971 National Electrical Code in replacement of the National Electrical Code of 1968 by amending Section 11. 04. 170 as follows: Section 11. 04. 170 National Electrical Code 1971 adopted. That certain printed code, three copies of which are and have been on file in the office of the City Clerk for the use and examination of the public, being marked, printed and designated as the National Electrical Code 1971, copyrighted in 1971 by the National Fire Protection Association, is hereby adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Chapter. Section 2. The Edmonds Electrical Code is hereby amended by the amendment of Section 11. 04.140 of the Edmonds City Code as follows: Section 11. 04. 140 Metallic raceway. All electrical circuits installed in fire zone one of the City of Edmonds shall be in metallic raceway, Provided, however, Group H, I, and J-1 occupancies as defined by the Uniform Building Code adopted by Chapter 11. 02 of the Edmonds City Code shall be exempt from this requirement.
