ORDINANCE NO. 2131
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 1.01.031(C) OF THE EDMONDS CITY
CODE TO ESTABLISH A $200 PER MONTH SALARY FOR THE
OFFICE OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT AND REPEALING SECTION
1.01.031(D).
WHEREAS, the Council President has been receiving a
per diem allowance in connection with the duties of the office
of Council,President, and
WHEREAS, the State Auditor requires an audit trail
which creates an undue administrative burden on the City staff
and the office of Council President, and
WHEREAS, the Council President's office is a new
office and thus does not fall within the statutory prohibitions
against increase in salaries, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 1.01.031(C) of the Edmonds City
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"C. In addition to the salary as a member of the City Council,
the Council President shall be entitled to receive a salary
in the amount of $200 per month."
Section 2. Section 1.01.031(D) of the Edmonds City
Code is hereby repealed.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and

effect on May 1, 1980.
