Ordinance 25700006. WSS/naa 05/30/86 R: 06/26/86 ORDINANCE NO. 5;� -70 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING ECC 10.16.010 RELATING TO THE CEMETERY BOARD ITS MEMBERS AND TERMS TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE BOARD TO SEVEN MEMBERS, PROVIDE FOR INITIAL APPOINTMENTS AND FIX A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 10.16.010 of the Edmonds City Code relating to the Cemetery Board, its members and their terms is hereby amended to read as follows: 10.16.010 Cemetery Board - Members and their terms. The Cemetery Board shall be composed of seven members of the community. Board members shall be appointed for four (4) year terms terminating on December 31. Section 2. In order to provide the Cemetery Board with continuity, the two additional positions created by this ordinance shall expire December 31, 1987, and December 31, 1988. The Mayor shall designate on appointment the term each new appointee shall serve. Thereafter all regular positions shall serve full four year terms and nothing herein shall prevent the reappointment of a board member appointed for a shortened term. Section 3. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication of the attached summary which is hereby approved.
