ORDINANCE NO. 2585
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING ECDC 19.55.020 SWIMMING POOLS TO
PROVIDE THAT ACCESSORY POOL STRUCTURES SHALL
COMPLY WITH APPROPRIATE SET BACKS FOR THAT ZONE
IN WHICH THEY ARE LOCATED AND FIXING A TIME
WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has received the report of
its Planning Board recommending amendment of the Edmonds
Community Development Code to clarify that all accessory
structures relating to swimming pools will conform to set backs
of the zone in which located, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing
regarding such amendments, and
WHEREAS, having considered the recommendations of its
Planning Board and the comments received at said public hearing
determines it to be in the public interest to clarify the code,
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. ECDC 19.55.020 LOCATION AND SET BACKS is
hereby amended to read as follows:
19.55.020 LOCATION AND SETBACKS
Swimming pools may be located in any use zone in the
City of Edmonds. Minimum set back from the property
lines to the inside face of the pool shall be that
required by the zoning ordinance for accessory
structures. All other accessory pool buildings and
equipment shall meet the normally required set backs
for accessory structures in the zone in which they are
located.
Section 2. This ordinance, being an exercise of a
power specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is not
subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after
passage and publication of the attached, approved summary.
