ORDINANCE NO. 2161
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH-
INGTON, ADDING A NEW SECTION 8.48.125 TO
THE EDMONDS CITY CODE TO AUTHORIZE THE
TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO PROHIBIT PARKING WITH-
IN THIRTY (30) FEET OF PRIVATE DRIVEWAYS
UPON DESIGNATING THE AREA WITH YELLOW CURB
MARKINGS.
WHEREAS, the parking of cars in proximity to
private driveways reduces visibility for motorists entering
upon the public highways and thus increases the possibility
of collisions, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A new Section 8.48.125 is hereby added
to the Edmonds City Code to read as follows:
"8.48.125 PARKING WITHIN THIRTY (30) FEET OF PRIVATE
DRIVEWAY PROHIBITED.
The Traffic Engineer is authorized to prohibit parking
within thirty (30) feet on either side of private
driveways entering on to any street. The 'no parking
zone' shall be designated by appropriate yellow mark-
ings on the curb on either side of the driveway."
Section 2. Any person violating the provisions of
this ordinance shall be guilty of a parking violation as set
forth in Section 8.48.200 of the Edmonds City Code.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect five (5) days after passage and publication by
posting as provided by law.
