ORDINANCE NO. 2613
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING TITLE IV OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE BY REPEAL OF CHAPTER
4.38 RELATING TO RENTAL OF HALLS AND
FIXING A TIME WHEN SAME SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 4.38 of the City Code provides for
a system of permit issuance for the rental of halls; and
WHEREAS, the vast majority of such rental
applications are for the city's own Plaza Meeting Room and
Senior Center;and
WHEREAS, the provisions of the chapter requiring
review by the Police Department have proved unwieldly and
ineffective; and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that the administrative
burdens imposed by the ordinance and the delays inherent in
its procedure outweigh any benefit which may be obtained;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.: Title IV of the Edmonds City Code is
hereby amended by the repeal of Chapter 4.38 relating to
Rental of Halls.
Section 2.: This ordinance shall take effect and
be in full force thirty (30) days after publication of the
attached summary which is hereby approved.
