ORDINANCE NO. 2614
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASED SALARY FOR ITS
MAYOR, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1987, AND FIXING
A DATE WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, the City Council of Edmonds has previously
established a salary for its Mayor and amended it upward by
Ordinance No. 2522 in September of 1985, and
WHEREAS, the City Council determines it to be
approprate to align the Mayor's salary with the salaries
offered in similar positions in similar situated cities and
therefore to increase the salary of the mayor to an annual
salary of $41,776.80 per year, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 2522 establishing a
salary level for the Mayor and Ordinance No. 2559
establishing salary ranges and salaries of exempt personnel
of the City are hereby amended in order to provide for a
salary for the Mayor of the City of Edmonds of $41,776.80 per
year at a rate equivalent to $3,481.40 per month. This
salary shall be effective for the service of the Mayor, from
and after January 1, 1987.
Section 2. This ordinance, being an exercise of
the powers specifically delegated to the City legislative
body, is not subject to referendum and shall take effect five
(5) days after its passage and publication of the attached
summary which is hereby approved.
