ORDINANCE NO. 1728
AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF 84TH
AVENUE WEST, IN THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, RETAINING AN EASEMENT AND
RESERVING TO THE CITY OF EDMONDS THE RIGHT
TO EXERCISE & GRANT EASEMENTS THEREON FOR
PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SERVICES.
WHEREAS, a petition to vacate a street was filed with
the City Council of the City of Edmonds, signed by the owners
of more than two thirds of the property abutting upon property
dedicated for street purposes, located in the City of Edmonds,
being a portion of 84th Avenue West, more particularly described
below, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds did
by Resolution No. 303 of said City duly adopted on the 21st day
of May, 1974, set the 18th day of June, 1974, at the hour of
7:30 p.m. of said day, for the hearing and determination on said
vacation, and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that said portion
of 84th Avenue West should be vacated, and the said City Council
does hereby determine to vacate the same, as hereinafter set
forth,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the following described street in the
City of Edmonds, Snohomish County, Washington, being a portion
of 84th Avenue West, legally described as follows:
That portion of the North 1/2 of the North 1/2 of Section
18, Township 27 North, Range 4 East, described as follows:
Beginning at the North 1/4 corner of Section 18, thence S
0°26'17" W along the North/South centerline of said Section,
56.40 feet to the South right-of-way of Olympic View Drive;
thence S 65*17117" W along said right-of-way 33.14 feet to

its intersection with the westerly right-of-way of 84th
Avenue West and the True Point of Beginning; thence S
0°26'17" W along said westerly right-of-way 365.52 feet;
thence S 89033143" E 30.00 feet to the North/South Center-
line of said Section; thence N 0126117" E along said
centerline 19.09 feet; thence S 89033143" E 30.00 feet
to the easterly right-of-way of 84th Avenue West; thence
N 0026'17" E along said easterly right-of-way 374.60 feet
to its intersection with the south right-of-way of Olympic
View Drive; thence S 65017117" W along said south right-
of-way 66.28 feet to the True Point of Beginning, LESS
that portion vacated by Snohomish County as recorded in
records of Snohomish County, Washington,
be and the same is HEREBY VACATED, PROVIDED, HOWEVER, such vaca-
tion shall not become effective until the owners of property
abutting said street or part thereof shall compensate the City
in an amount not exceeding one-half the appraised value of the
area so vacated, to wit the sum of $ 630.31 , and
provided further, that the City of Edmonds hereby retains an
easement and reserves the right to exercise and grant easements
in respect to said vacated land for the construction, repair,
maintenance and access to any and all public utilities and
services presently in existence in said area or as may be
installed in the future.
Section,2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force five days after its adoption, publication and compliance
with the conditions contained in Section 1, as provided by law.
