ORDINANCE NO. 2634
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 5.26.030 OF THE EDMONDS CITY
CODE TO REQUIRE SIXTY (60) DAY FILING PERIOD
AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, the City Council is charged by the provisions
of RCW 70.77.270 with the issuance of permits for the sale and
display of fireworks, and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that applications submitted
to it without sufficient time for review is detrimental to the
public interest and inhibits the reasonable review of such
applications, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. ECC 5.26.030 Application for Permit is
hereby amended by the addition of a new subparagraph (E) to read
as follows:
5.26.030 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT.
E. Applications for the sale of fireworks shall be
made in writing at least 60 days in advance of the
date proposed for the sale of such fireworks. In
the event that two applications are received for
the same location or locations within fifty (50)
feet of each other, the first complete application
conforming to the requirements of this chapter and
RCW 70.77 shall be given presidence.
Section 2. This ordinance, being an administrative
action, is not subject to referendum and shall take effect five

(5) days after publication of the attached summary which is
hereby approved.
