ORDINANCE NO. 2647
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
CORRECTING THE PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 2635
TO CORRECT A SCRIVNER'S ERROR, INCORRECTLY
DESIGNATING THE ZONING FOR CERTAIN PROPERTIES
WITHIN THE SHERWOOD ANNEXATION AS RS-12, TO THE
CORRECT DESIGNATION OF RS-8 AND FIXING A TIME
WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, following notice given in accordance with law,
two hearings were held by the Edmonds City Council regarding the
appropriate preannexation zoning for certain properties within
the Sherwood annexation area, and
WHEREAS, at said hearings the testimony showed that the
property is currently zoned within Snohomish County at a zoning
category equivalent to the RS-8 designation of the City of
Edmonds, that is, establishing approximately 8,000 square foot
lots, and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed and intended that
such property be designated as RS-8 within the City of Edmonds,
and
WHEREAS due to a scrivner's error such property was
designated on Ordinance No. 2635 as RS-12, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 2635 is hereby amended by the
deletion of the reference to RS-12 zoning wherever the same shall
appear within said Ordinance and substituting therefore the
proper zoning designation of RS-8.
Section 2. This ordinance is passed and approved based
upon the evidence previously adduced at City hearings and is not
intended as a new action but rather is solely in correction of
the prior scrivner's error.
Section 3. The City Council hereby declares that an
emergency exists necessitating that this ordinance take effect
immediately upon passage by unanimous vote of the members of the
City Council.
