AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
LEVYING THE GENERAL TAXES FOR THE CITY OF EDMONDS
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1976,
ON ALL PROPERTY, BOTH REAL AND PERSONAL, IN SAID
CITY, SUBJECT TO TAXATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PAYING SUFFICIENT REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE SEVERAL
DEPARTMENTS OF SAID CITY FOR THE ENSUING YEAR AS
REQUIRED BY LAW, AND PROVIDING FOR THE .COLLECTION
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds having
considered the City's anticipated financial requirements for
1976 and the amounts necessary and available to be raised by
ad valorem taxes on real, personal and utility property, now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.. There shall be and hereby is levied on all
real, personal and utility property in the City of Edmonds,
subject to taxation, current taxes for the ensuing year com-
mencing January 1, 1976, the sum of $843,756 which is
$3.60 per $1,000 of assessed valuation levied on property with
an estimated assessed valuation of $234,376,775 of all said
taxable property, for the Current Expense Fund and for the
Firemen's Pension Fund as may be necessary to maintain the
acturial soundness of said Firemen's Pension Fund, if any.
Section 2. In addition to the above levies for the
ensuing fiscal year of 1976, there shall be and hereby is
levied current taxes of $40,393 which is approximately
$.2358 per $1,000 of assessed valuation levied on property
with an estimated assessed valuation of $171,357,401 the
purpose of which is to retire the outstanding obligation
incurred b1° the City for Refunding General Obligation Bonds
which retired bonds that had been issued after an affirmative
vote of thecitizens in favor of the construction of the
Edmonds Civic Center.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be certified to the
proper County Officials, as provided by law, and the taxes
here levied shall be collected and paid to the City Treasurer
of the City of Edmonds, at the time and in the manner provided
by the laws of the State of Washington for the collection of
taxes for non -charter code cities.
