AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1789 AND CHAPTER 4.38 OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 4..38.045
PERMITTING THE ISSUANCE OF ANNUAL LICENSES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds,
Washington, by Ordinance No. 1789 passed on September 2,
1975, required the obtaining a license for rental of a hall
within the City Limits of the City of Edmonds under certain
circumstances, and
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City
Council that there are a number of persons, organizations or
groups who hold functions periodically throughout the year
and that the issuance of an annual license to such persons,
groups or organizations is appropriate, now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 1789 passed September 2,
1975, and Chapter 4.38 of the Edmonds City Code are hereby
amended by adding a new section to read as follows:
Section 4.38.045. Issuance of Annual License. Any
person, persons, society, operation, club or other
organization required to obtain a license under this
chapter who intends to rent a facility on a regular
basis throughout the course of a calendar year may
request and the City Clerk may issue an annual license.
Provided, however, such applicant shall provide all of
the information required for a single event license as
otherwise set forth in this chapter for each scheduled
event for which the license would be required and shall
have the affirmative duty of advising the City Clerk of
any change in the proposed schedule for which said
license is granted.
Holding an event required to be licensed hereunder on
other than a date so listed by the license shall be
grounds for revocation of the annual license and shall
be deemed a violation of this chapter punishable as
provided herein. A license issued as an annual license
shall be so indicated on the face of the license and
each such license shall expire at midnight, December
31st of the respective year for which it is issued.
The date of expiration shall appear. upon the face of
said license. The fees for such license shall be as
provided in Section 4.38.040.
