ORDINANCE NO. 2868
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE CITY'S BICYCLE PATHS
AND TRAILS PLAN TO DESIGNATE A STRIP OF LAND
CONNECTING HINDLEY LANE AND BROOKMERE DRIVE AS
A NEIGHBORHOOD TRAIL, INSTRUCTING THE
COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR TO AMEND THE
BICYCLE PATHS AND TRAILS PLAN, AND FIXING A
TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds has adopted a Bicycle Paths
and Trails Plan as part of its Comprehensive Plan pursuant to ECDC
15.10.000(F);
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds has purchased a 6 foot strip
of land connecting Hindley Lane and Brookmere Drive; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is the public
interest to place the strip on the City's Bicycle Paths and Trails
Plan as a neighborhood trail designed to connect the two
neighborhoods rather than as a part of the City wide trail system;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A six foot strip of land owned by the City
of Edmonds and connecting Hindley Lane and Brookmere Drive is
hereby added to and incorporated into the City's Bicycle Paths and
Trails Plan adopted pursuant to ECDC 15.10.000(F). The connector
is hereby designated as a neighborhood trail intended for use in
connecting the two neighborhoods rather than as a part of the City

wide trail system. All improvements to the trail, signage and
maintenance shall take into account this anticipated use and level
of service.
Section 2. The Community Services Director or his
designee is hereby directed to include the connector between
Hindley Lane and Brookmere Drive on the City's Bicycle Paths and
Trails Plan specifically designating it as a neighborhood trail for
limited use.
Section 3. This ordinance, being an administrative
action, is not subject to referendum and shall take effect five ( 5 )
days after this ordinance or a summary thereof consisting of the
title is published.
