ORDINANCE NO. 2872
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP
OF THE CITY BY CHANGING THE ZONING
CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 19017, 19023 AND 19031 - 83RD
AVENUE WEST FROM PUBLIC USE TO RESIDENTIAL
(RS-12), PURSUANT TO THE PLANNING BOARD'S
RECOMMENDATION AND CITY COUNCIL REVIEW, AND
FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME
EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds,
Washington, pursuant to notice and in conformance with law and
ordinance continued a public hearing from March 2, 1992 to
March 17, 1992, regarding a proposed amendment to the official
zoning map of the City brought forward by application number R-2-91
in order to correct a manifest error in the City's zoning map;
WHEREAS, the City Council has received the positive
recommendation of its Planning Board regarding such application and
held its own public hearing on said rezone matter;
WHEREAS, the City Council concurs with the findings of
the City's responsible official that no significant adverse
environmental impact will result from said action; and
WHEREAS, the City. Council hereby adopts as its findings
and conclusions the findings and conclusions entered by its
Planning Board with regard to said rezone; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The official zoning map of the City of
Edmonds, Washington, is hereby amended to change the classification
of certain property described from Public Use to Residential 12,000
square foot (RS-12), said property being entirely situated in the
City of Edmonds, Snohomish County, Washington, with current street
numbering of 19017, 19023 and 19031 - 83rd Avenue West. Said
property is shown on the attached Exhibit A, incorporated by this
reference as fully as if herein set forth. In approving this
rezone, the Council specifically notes that the designation of
Public Use is in error stemming from original adoption of the
current zoning map and this zoning amendment recognizes the current
and reasonably foreseeable highest and best use of the property.
Section 2. The Community Services Director, by and
through his duly appointed designee, is hereby directed to
effectuate the necessary amendments to the official zoning map of
the City of Edmonds, Washington, enacted pursuant to Section 1 of
this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power
specifically delegated to the City's legislative body, is not
subject to referendum and shall take effect five (5) days after
passage and publication of the ordinance or summary thereof
consisting of the title and the attached Exhibit A.
