AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
RELATING TO ESTABLISHMENT OF FEES UNDER THE EDMONDS
BUILDING AND PLUMBING CODES TO RAISE THE FEE FOR
PERMITS ISSUED THEREUNDER FROM TWO DOLLARS TO FIVE
DOLLARS AND AMENDING SECTION 11.02.066 OF THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE TO PROVIDE FOR A PLAN -CHECK FEE FOR SINGLE-
FAMILY RESIDENCES OF AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO ONE -TENTH OF
ONE PERCENT OF THE BUILDING VALUATION.
WHEREAS, the. costs and burden of administering the issuance
of permits under the. various codes, including the building code
and plumbing code of the City of Edmonds, has substantially risen
so that the fees presently charged are wholly inadequate with
respect to the. cost of issuing such permits, and
WHEREAS, there has been a substantial increase in the demand
on the building department and its staff with respect to the
reviewing of single-family residential plan -checks, specifically
group occupancies I and J to the point there is a need to establish
a plan -check fee for such occupancies, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 11.02.066 of the Edmonds City Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"11.02.066. Establishment of Plan -check fees for single-
family resi ences--Establishment of fence permit, housing
compliance inspection and moving permit fees. Section 303
(b) of the. Uniform Building Code,. 1973 Edition, adopted by
Section. 11.02.-010 of. this. chapter is amended to re. -establish
a plan -.check .f.ee for I and J occupancies in an amount equal
to one -tenth of one percent of the building. valuation.
There is established the following fees for the permits as
set forth:
Fence permit ..........................................$ 2.00
Housing compliance inspection .........................$25.00
Relocation of building (moving permit)................$10.00
Section 2. Section 11.12.020 of the Edmonds City Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"11`.12.020.. Modificationsand additions to Uniform Plumbing
Code. Part 1, subsections 1.0, 1.1 and 1.3 thr.ough. 1.14 of
the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1970 Edition, previously adopted
by Ordinance. 1519 of. the City is readopted by this reference
and incorporated herewith as if fully set forth within
this. chapter, provided, however, that .Section 1.,12
schedule of fees is amended to provide that the fee
for issuing each permit.shall be five dollars.
