Ordinance 29700006.130.016 WSS/are 12/22/93 01/14/94 ORDINANCE NO. 2970 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE SECTION 2.35.030 VACATIONS, PARAGRAPH A AND THE SUBPARAGRAPHS THEREOF TO PROVIDE FOR THE ACCRUAL OF 22 DAYS OF VACATION PER YEAR FOR EMPLOYEES WITH 20 YEARS OR MORE SERVICE AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Edmonds City Code Section 2.35.030 Vacations, subparagraph A and the subparagraphs thereof are hereby amended to read as follows: 2.35.030 Vacations. A. Regular employees shall accrue the following amount of vacation leave with pay based on the length of continuous service, as that term is defined in the personnel policies: 1. Non-exempt, represented employees shall receive vacation leave in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement; 2. Non-exempt and exempt non - represented employees below the level of division manager shall accrue annual vacation in accordance with the following schedule: 63692.1 -1- YEARS OF EMPLOYMENT After the first six (6) months of continuous employment Second six (6) months Two (2) years through Five (5) years Six (6) years through Eleven (11) years Twelve (12) years through Nineteen (19) years Twenty (20) years and thereafter DAYS OF VACATION Six (6) days of credit Five (5) days additional Eleven (11) days per year Sixteen (16) days per year Twenty-one (21) days per year Twenty-two (22) days per year 3. Division Managers (consisting of the Superintendent of Public Works, Parks and Recreation Manager, Planning Manager, City Engineer, Personnel Manager, Accounting Manager, and the City Clerk) shall accrue annual vacation in accordance with the following schedule: YEARS OF EMPLOYMENT After the first six (6) months of continuous employment Second six (6) months Two (2) years through Eleven (11) years Twelve (12) years through Nineteen (19) years Twenty (20) years and thereafter DAYS OF VACATION Eight (8) days of credit Eight (8) days additional Sixteen (16) days per year Twenty-one (21) days per year Twenty-two (22) days per year 4. The Police Chief, Fire Chief, Administrative Services Director, and the Community Services Director shall accrue twenty-two (22) days per year after the completion of a probationary period established by the Mayor. The rate of accrual shall be reflected by a credit equal to the proportionate share of vacation earned for the period. Section 2. Severability. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifically delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the title.
