AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
ANNEXING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY TO SAID CITY
PURSUANT TO THE PETITION METHOD, REQUIRING SAID
PROPERTY TO BE ASSESSED AND TAXED AT THE SAME
RATE AND BASIS AS OTHER PROPERTY WITHIN SAID CITY
PRESERVING GENERAL COMMERCIAL ZONING, AND FIX-
ING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF ANNEXATIONS.
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds received a Petition for An-
nexation of certain real property, the legal description of which is set
forth below, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has deter-
mined that the City will require the assumption of existing City indebt-
edness by the area to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, the said City Council fixed the date of April 26,
1977 as the date for public hearing thereon and caused due and proper
notice of said hearing to be posted and published, and
WHEREAS, said proposed annexation ,was submitted with a re-
quest for a waiver before the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board
at its regular meeting in April, 1977, and said Snohomish County Bound-
ary Review Board has waived the requirement of hearings on this matter,
now, therefore.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There has been filed with the City Council of
the City of Edmonds, a Petition in writing signed by the owners of
more than 75 percent in value, according to the assessed valuation
for general taxation of the property for which annexation was petition-
ed; that said Petition set forth the legal description of said real prop-
erty; that said Petition was accompanied by a plat or drawing outlining
the boundaries of property sought to be annexed; that said Petition set
forth the fact that the City Council of the City of Edmonds required
the assumption of City indebtedness by the area requested to be an-
nexed; that prior to the filing of said Petition the City Council had in-
dicated the tentative approval of such annexation; and that petitioners
further understood the proposed zoning of said area proposed for an-
nexation as shown in the Edmonds Comprehensive Plan to be commer-
cial/business.
Section 2. Tuesday, April 26, 1977, was set as a date of
public hearing on said Petition; notice of such hearing was published
in the Edmonds Tribune Review, a newspaper of general circulation
in the City of Edmonds, notice of such hearing was also posted in
three public places within the territory proposed for annexation; and
said notice specified the time and place of such hearing and invited
interested persons to appear and voice approval or disapproval of the
annexation.
Section 3. The territory proposed by said Petition to be an-
nexed to said City of Edmonds is situate in the County of Snohomish
in the State of Washington, is contiguous, proximate and adjacent to

the present corporate limits of said City, and is particularly described
on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated in full by this refer-
ence.
Section 4. The territory set forth in this Ordinance and for
which said Petition for Annexation is filed, should be and is hereby
made a part of the City of Edmonds.
Section 5. Pursuant to the terms of the Annexation Petition,
all property within this territory annexed hereby shall be assessed and
taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as property within the
City, including assessments or taxes in payment of any bonds issued
or debts contracted, prior to or existing at the date of annexation.
Section 6. Said area hereby annexed shall retain the existing
county zoning pursuant to the City Code of the City of Edmonds until
such time as the same may be officially designated on the Official
Zoning Map, and, pursuant to the Petition for Annexation herein, the
same shall receive a Commercial General (CG) zoning classification.
Section 7. The area annexed hereby shall become a part of
the City of Edmonds, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force, on the 9th day of May , 1977.

Beginning at a point on the present city limits of Edmonds, said
point being the Northwest corner of the E 1/2 of the W 1/2 of
the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 29, Township
27 North, Range 4 East, W.M.; thence Westerly along the North line
of said SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4.projected westerly to
its intersection with the city limits of Edmonds; thence Southwesterly
along said city limits, being parallel to and 15 feet easterly at
right angles to the west margin of P.S.H. No. 1 to its intersection
with the westerly projection of the Northerly right-of-way of 224th
Street S.W.; thence Easterly along said Northerly right-of-way to
its intersection with the west line of the E 1/2 of the lJ 1/2 of
