AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
ADDING A NEW SECTION 8.16.070 TO THE EDMONDS CITY CODE
ESTABLISHING SPEED REGULATIONS ON CITY PARK PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds finds
that the public health, safety and general welfare require
regulation of the speed of motor vehicles on City Park prop-
erty; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined upon the basis
of engineering and traffic investigation that the speed
limit on the Union Oil Beach access road should be 15 miles
an hour in order to protect the public health, safety and
general welfare, now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A new Section 8.16.070 is hereby added to
the Edmonds City Code to read as follows:
"8.16.070 Park Speed Regulations. When properly
posted, the following speed limits shall apply in the
designated public parks, beaches and playgrounds owned,
leased or otherwise under the direct supervision and/or
control of the City of Edmonds:
Name of Park Speed Limit
Union Oil Beach Parking Lot and
Access Road from Parking Lot 15 mph
to Admiral Way.
Section 2. The Traffic Engineer is hereby directed to
remove, replace, modify or install such signs as are
me
necessary to carry out the purposes of the preceeding
section of this ordinance.
