AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMEND-
ING SECTIONS 12.04.030 AND 12.04.090 OF THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE BY ADOPTING AS THE OFFICIAL COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN AND MAP FOR THE CITY OF EDMONDS TITLE 12 OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE AND THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND MAP
PREPARED BY THE EDMONDS PLANNING DEPARTMENT AND EN-
TITLED "EDMONDS COMPREHENSIVE POLICY PLAN 1976"; AND
REPEALING SECTIONS 12.04.091 AND 12.04.097 OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE PURSUANT TO EDMONDS PLANNING COM-
MISSION RESOLUTIONS NO. 531 AND No. 546.
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds has undertaken review and
continuing study of its planning policies, comprehensive
plan, ordinances and official maps, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Edmonds appointed a
citizens' task force of twenty (20) persons to develop a
goals and policy plan for the City of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, the task force met on numerous occasions and
extensively studied all elements of the "Edmonds Compre-
hensive Policy Plan--1976," the task force was aided in
their deliberations by the Edmonds Planning Department and
the results of a community wide survey on the needs, goals,
and desires of the people of Edmonds; and
WHEREAS, the task force findings were forwarded to and
considered by the Edmonds Planning Commission. The Planning
Commission held several public hearings and carefully con-
sidered the contents of the "Edmonds Comprehensive Policy
Plan--1976"; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission passed Resolutions No.
531 and No. 546 and forward the findings and recommendations
to the City Council; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Edmonds Planning Commission Reso-
lutions No. 531 and No. 546, the City Council of the City of
Edmonds having held several public hearings, and
WHEREAS, three copies of said "Comprehensive Policy
Plan--1976" and three copies of the Policy Plan Map prepared
by the Edmonds Planning Department are and have been on file
for public inspection in the office of the Edmonds City
Clerk, and
WHEREAS, the City Council having found that adoption of
the "Edmonds Comprehensive Policy Plan--1976`' and the
Policy Plan Map is in the best interest of the public health,
safety, general welfare and will promote the orderly de-
velopment of the City and there being no significant adverse
environmental impacts, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
Section 12.04.030 of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"12.04.030. Official Map Defined. 'Official Maps'
means those certain maps so designated showing the
location, size and dimension of land areas and uses in
and adjacent to the City of Edmonds and outlining land
uses deemed necessary for the present and future develop-
ment of said City, setting forth existing and prospec-
tive roadways, bikeways, equestrian trails, footpaths,
public uses and rights -of -way and residential, industrial
and commercial density studies and those maps, charts
and diagrams set forth in that compulation entitled
'Edmonds Comprehensive Policy Plan--1976' prepared by
the Edmonds Planning Department, dated 1976, three
copies of which have been and are on file in the office
of the Edmonds City Clerk for use and examination by
the public."

Section 2. Section 12.04.090 of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"12.04.090. Adoption of Plan and Official Naps. Pur-
suant to Resolution and recommendation of the Planning
Commission of the City of Edmonds and being guided by
RCW Chapter 35A.63 as amended, the City Council of the
City of Edmonds does hereby adopt as its comprehensive
plan Title 12 of the Edmonds City Code and that compula-
tion prepared by the Edmonds Planning Department, dated
July, 1976, three copies of which have been, prior to
the passage of the Ordinance codified in this Section
and are now on file for use and examination by the pub-
lic in the office of the Edmonds City Clerk, which com-
pulation is entitled 'Edmonds Comprehensive Policy
Plan--1976' and by this reference is hereby adopted,
together with the maps, charts and diagrams therein
contained and incorporated herein as if set forth in
full."
Section 3. Sections 12.04.091 and 12.04.097 of the
Edmonds City Code are hereby repealed.
