AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
ADDING A NEW SECTION 12.03.075(2) TO THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE TO REVISE THE COMPREHENSIVE THOROUGHFARE
PLAN BY CHANGING THE DESIGNATION OF 240TH STREET
SOUTHWEST BETWEEN HIGHWAY 99 AND 78TH AVENUE WEST
FROM "COLLECTOR" STATUS TO "PUBLIC RESIDENTIAL
STREET" STATUS; AND AMENDING THE OFFICIAL STREET
MAP ADOPTED BY SECTION 12.03.080 OF THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE, BY REDUCING THE PROPOSED RIGHT-OF-WAY
ON 240TH STREET SOUTHWEST BETWEEN HIGHWAY 99 AND
78TH AVENUE WEST FROM 60 FEET TO 50 FEET
WHEREAS, pursuant to Planning Commission Resolution
No. 590, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington,
called a public hearing regarding reclassifying 240th Street
Southwest between Highway 99 and 78th Avenue West from "Collector"
status to "Public Residential Street" status, and regarding
the reduction of the propose right-of-way on 240th Street South-
west between Highway 99 and 78th Avenue West from 60 feet to
50 feet, and
WHEREAS, after due consideration of existing neighbor-
hood and traffic conditions, the City Council finds the proposed
amendments to be in the best interests of the general health,
safety and welfare of the public, and further finds in conformance -
with the Community Development Departments recommendation that
there are no significant adverse environmental impacts, all in
accordance with Planning Commission Resolution No. 590, now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A new Section 12.03.075(2) is hereby
added to the Edmonds City Code to read as follows:
"12.03.075(2) Revision No. 2. 240th Street
Southwest between Highway 99 and 78th Avenue West
be and the same is hereby redesignated as "Public
Residential Street" as depicted in Revision No. 2
to Engineer's Drawing No. 1.231/45, which is
incorporated in full by this reference. "
Section 2. That certain document labeled Exhibit
A, attached hereto which revises Engineers Drawing No.
1.231/45 to redesignate 240th Street Southwest between
Highway 99 and 78th Avenue West as "Public Residential
Street", is hereby adopted in full by this reference.
Section 3. The Official Street Map adopted by
Section 12.03.080 of the Edmonds City Code, as amended is
hereby further amended by reducing the proposed right-of-way
on 240th Street Southwest between Highway 99 and 78th Avenue
West from 60 feet to 50 feet, all as set forth on Exhibit B,
a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated in full
by this reference, and by amending Sheet 17, Section 31, of
Engineer's Drawing No. 1.559 to conform with Exhibit B.
Section 4. The Director of Public Works is
hereby authorized and directed to amend Reid, Middleton &
Associates, Drawing No. 1.599, Sheet 17, Section 31, to
depict the revisions set forth in Section 2 hereinabove.

Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect five days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
