Ordinance 1997ORDINANCE NO.1997 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTION 8.48.160 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE TO PROHIBIT PARKING ON DESIGNATED STREETS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 A.M. AND 6:00 P.M. OF ANY DAY EXCEPT SUNDAYS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS; AMENDING SECTION 8.64.060 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE TO ESTABLISH A TWO HOUR PARKING LIMIT ON DAYTON STREET FROM FIFTH AVENUE SOUTH TO SIXTH AVENUE SOUTH;ON BOTH SIDES OF SECOND AVENUE FROM BELL TO DAYTON; ON BOTH SIDES OF MAPLE STREET FROM FIFTH AVENUE TO SIXTH AVENUE AND ON BOTH SIDES OF BELL STREET FROM SECOND AVENUE SOUTH TO THIRD AVENUE SOUTH. WHEREAS, the Traffic Engineer of the City of Edmonds, Washington, has determined and the City Council of the City of Edmonds finds it to be in the best interest of the public health, safety and general welfare to establish the parking limitations set forth herein, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 8.48.160 of the Edmonds City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "8.48.160 Parking time limited on certain streets. When signs are erected in each block giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle for longer than two hours at any time between the hours of eight a.m. and six p.m. of any day except Sundays and public holidays specified in Section 8.48.140 above, within the district or upon any of the streets described in Section 8.64.060." Section 2. Section 8.64.060 of the Edmonds City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: -1- "8.64.060-- Schedule VI --Parking time limited on certain streets. In accordance with Section 8.48.160 and when signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle for a period of time longer than two hours between the hours of eight a.m. and six p.m. of any day except Sundays and public holidays within the district or upon any of the streets as follows: 1. Both sides of Main Street, Railroad Street to 6th Avenue; 2. Both sides of Dayton Street, 4th Avenue South to 6th Avenue South; 3. Both sides of 3rd Avenue, James Street to mid -block between Main and Bell Streets; 4. 4th Avenue, Bell Street to Dayton Street on west side of Bell to one hundred twenty feet south of Dayton Street on the east side; 5. 5th Avenue South, on both sides from Bell Street to Walnut; 6. Both sides of 6th Avenue, Main to Dayton Streets; 7. Both sides of 2nd Avenue from Bell to Dayton Street; 8. Both sides of Bell Street, from 2nd Avenue to 3rd Avenue; and 9. Both sides of Maple Street from 5th Avenue South to 6th Avenue South. Section 3. The Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and instructed to have signs erected notifying the public of the parking restrictions imposed by this ordinance. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days after passage and publication by posting as EPM provided by law.
