ORDINANCE NO. 2210
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH-
INGTON, REPEALING SECTION 3.20.050(C) OF
THE EDMONDS CITY CODE WHICH IMPOSED AN
8.25 PERCENT TAX ON GROSS INCOME FROM THE
SALE OF WATER WITHIN THE CITY OF EDMONDS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has
determined to repeal the utility tax imposed on persons engaged
in selling water within the City of Edmonds and at the same time
increase the base and variable water rates by 8.25 percent, and
WHEREAS, the repeal of the water utility tax and the
corresponding increase in water rates are necessary in order to
place the City's utilities on a more stable and sound financial
basis, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 3.20.050(C) of the Edmonds City
Code is hereby repealed and the word "Reserved" inserted therefore.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting as
provided by law.
