ORDINANCE NO. 2229
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH-
INGTON, ADDING A NEW SECTION 8.52.065 TO THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE PROVIDING VISITOR PARKING
BY PERMIT ON SUNSET AVENUE, OCEAN AVENUE,
AND 75TH PLACE WEST NORTH OF NORTH MEADOWDALE
ROAD.
WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Code restricts parking on
Sunset Avenue, Ocean Avenue and 75th Place West, north of North
Meadowdale Road, to certain hours each day, in order to control
the excessive use of those residential areas by non-residents,
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to permit limited visitors'
parking on those streets for persons visiting the residents of
those streets, now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby added a new section
8.52.065 providing visitor parking on certain streets to read as
follows:
"8.52.065. VISITOR PARKING ON CERTAIN STREETS
Visitors permits shall be issued by the City Clerk to residents
of Sunset Avenue, Ocean Avenue, and the portion of 75th Place
West, north of North Meadowdale Road, without showing a lack of
off-street parking or vehicle ownership. Such visitors permits
shall be issued at no cost to the applicant. Such visitors
permits shall be limited to two permits per household or
residence. These permits shall only be valid for parking after
the posted hours on the east side of Sunset Avenue and on the
east side of Ocean Avenue. Such permits shall be valid on either
side of 75th Place West, north of North Meadowdale Road. All
other provisions of this chapter, where not inconsistent with
this section, shall apply."

Section 2. The Public Works Director is hereby
directed to post signs on streets affected by this Ordinance
which shall indicate that parking beyond the time permitted by
City Ordinance for that particular street will be allowed by
permit only.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect five (5)
days after passage and publication as provided by law.
