AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP TO REDUCE THE
RIGHT-OF-WAY THEREIN INDICATED FROM NINETY FEET
TO SIXTY FEET ALONG 196th STREET SOUTHWEST FROM
88th AVENUE WEST TO 81st PLACE WEST.
WHEREAS, the right-of-way for 196th Street Southwest
between the intersections of 88th Avenue West and 76th Avenue
West was established at 90 feet in 1968, and
WHEREAS, all roadway improvements completed by the
Washington State Department of Transportation are within the
existing 60 feet of that right-of-way, and
WHEREAS, a portion of that right-of-way along
196th Street Southwest from 81st Place West to 76th Avenue
West was reduced from 90 feet to 60 feet by Ordinance No. 1978,
and
WHEREAS, the City's Engineering and Planning Departments
recommend that the right-of-way be reduced to 60 feet along
196th Street Southwest from 88th Avenue West to 81st Place
West, and
WHEREAS, the City's responsible official has issued a
Declaration of Nonsignificance with regard to this proposal,
and a public hearing was held before the Edmonds Hearings Examiner
on April 16, 1981 at which time members of the public were given
an opportunity to speak, and
WHEREAS, the hearing examiner has recommended that said
right-of-way be reduced from 90 feet to 60 feet, now, therefore,

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The official street map for the City of
Edmonds is hereby amended to reduce the right-of-way along 196th
Street Southwest from 88th Avenue West to 81st Place West from
90 feet in width to 60 feet.
Section 2. The City Engineer is hereby directed to
take all necessary steps to amend the official street map
consistent with this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
