ORDINANCE NO. 2261
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING
MAP OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
BY CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF
CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM RS-20 TO OS, CON-
TRARY TO PLANNING ADVISORY BOARD RESO-
LUTION NO. 670.
WHEREAS, the Planning Advisory Board of the City of
Edmonds, Washington, held a public hearing to consider re-
zoning a certain parcel of real property in the City of Ed-
monds from RS-20 to Open Space (OS) and after said hearing,
forwarded its recommendations to the City Council in Planning
Advisory Board Resolution No. 670, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds,
Washington, held a public hearing and considered the findings
of Fact, Conclusions and Recommendations of the Planning
Advisory Board as contained in Resolution No. 670, the tes-
timony of the City staff, and heard from all members of the
public who desired to speak, and
WHEREAS, based on the foregoing, the City Council
determines as follows:
1. There is a strong likelihood that there will be
a need for additional Open Space in the area in which this
subject property is located.
2. There have been changes in the character of the
neighborhood which warrant rezoning this property to Open
Space.
3. The proposed rezone would provide more benefit
to the public than detriment to the owner of the property,
the City of Edmonds.
4. The subject property is environmentally
sensitive.
5. Rezoning the subject property to Open Space
would be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.
6. There are no significant adverse environmental
impacts to the surrounding properties either within or with-
out the jurisdiction of the City of Edmonds which will be
affected by the proposed zoning classification of the prop-
erty or the proposed uses, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The official zoning map of the City of
Edmonds, Washington, is hereby amended by changing the zoning
classification from RS-20 to Open Space (OS) of certain real
property, all situate in the City of Edmonds, Snohomish
County, Washington, and more particularly described on
Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein as if
set forth in full.
Section 2. The Planning Department Director is
hereby instructed to effectuate the necessary amendments to

the official zoning map of the City of Edmonds, Washington,
consistent with this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect five (5) days after passage and publication by
posting as provided by law.
