ORDINANCE NO. 2304
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH-
INGTON, ADDING A NEW SECTION 8.48.500 TO
THE EDMONDS CITY CODE REGULATING PARKING IN
THE FISHING PIER PARKING LOT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. A new Section 8.48.500 is hereby added
to the Edmonds City Code establishing restrictions for the
parking use of the fishing pier parking lot and providing
penalties as follows:
8.48.500 PARKING IN FISHING PIER PARKING LOT
A. "Fishing Pier Parking Lot" means that parking
lot owned jointly by the City of Edmonds and the
Port of Edmonds and located immediately adjacent
to the Edmonds Fishing Pier at the western end
of Dayton Street, on Railroad Avenue in the
Edmonds Waterfront district.
B. When signs are erected in conspicuous places in
the Fishing Pier Parking Lot giving notice
thereof, parking spaces shall be restricted to
the use of certain user groups as follows:
1. Spaces 1 through 41 - From May 1 through
September 30 of each year. These spaces are
reserved for the exclusive use of fishing
pier patrons, Port of Edmonds property
users, and users of the Dayton Street Park
and the City Beach at the foot of Dayton
Street.
2. Spaces 1 through 41 - From October 1 through
April 30 of each year. These spaces may be
used by the general public.
3. Spaces 42 through 81. These spaces may be
used by the general public all year round.
C. When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no
person shall park a vehicle in the Fishing Pier
Parking Lot overnight or between the hours of 2
a.m. and 4 a.m.
D. Any vehicle parked in violation of this section
may be towed from the Fishing Pier Parking Lot,
when signs are posted in a conspicuous location
within the Fishing Pier Parking Lot giving the
name of the agency at whose direction vehicles
are towed for violation of this ordinance and
the phone number and address where information
regarding recovery of such vehicles may be
obtained. The owner of any vehicle towed from
the Fishing Pier Parking Lot for a violation of
this section shall be liable for the entire cost
of such towing. Neither the City of Edmonds,
nor any of its agents, shall be liable for
damage to any vehicle towed pursuant to this
section.
E. Any violation of this section shall constitute a
parking infraction punishable as set forth in
Section 8.48.215 of this Code.
Section 2. The Traffic Engineer is hereby directed
to cause signs to be erected in conspicuous locations in the
Fishing Pier Parking Lot notifying all users of such parking
lot of the specific provisions of this ordinance. A sign
shall be posted notifying any violator of this ordinance that
his or her vehicle is subject to being towed at his or her
risk and expense.

Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect five (5) days after passage and publication by
posting as provided by law.
