AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTION 1.02.031(C)
OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE TO INCREASE THE
MONTHLY SALARY FOR THE OFFICE OF COUNCIL
PRESIDENT.
WHEREAS, the Council President performs additional
duties and has additional responsibilities above those of a
City Council Member and thus should receive additional allow-
ances in connection with performance of the duties of that
Office, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 1.02.031(C) of the Edmonds City
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
C. In addition to the salary as a member of
the City Council, the Council President shall
be entitled to receive a salary in an amount
equal to the highest salary paid to a member
of the City Council.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five days after passage and publication by posting as
provided by law, and shall apply to the Council President first
elected after the effective date of this ordinance.
