ORDINANCE NO. 2318 -
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH-
INGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2229 PASSED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON SEPTEMBER 8, 1981,
AND SECTION 8.52.065 OF THE EDMONDS CITY
CODE RELATING TO VISITOR PARKING ON CERTAIN
STREETS.
WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Council passed Ordinance
No. 2229 on September 8, 1981, permitting parking by vehicles
displaying a visitors permit on certain portions of Sunset
Avenue, Ocean Avenue and a portion of 75th Place West north
of North Meadowdale Road after the posted hours, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2229 permitted such parking
by visitors permit on the east side of Sunset Avenue and
Ocean Avenue, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2229 conflicts with Section
8.64.030 of the Edmonds City Code which prohibits parking on
the east side of said streets, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 2229, Section 1, passed by
the City Council on September 8, 1981, and Section 8.52.065
of the Edmonds City Code are hereby amended to read as
follows:
8.52.065 VISITOR PARKING ON CERTAIN STREETS
Visitors permits shall be issued by the City Clerk
to residents of Sunset Avenue, Ocean Avenue, and
the portion of 75th Place West, north of North
Meadowdale Road, without showing a lack of off-
street parking or vehicle ownership. Such
visitors permits shall be issued at no cost to the
applicant. Such visitors permits shall be limited
to two permits per household or residence. These
permits shall only be valid for parking after the
posted hours on the west side of Sunset Avenue
from Bell Street to Caspers Street and on the west
side of Ocean Avenue. Such permits shall be valid
on either side of 75th Place West, north of North
Meadowdale Road. All other provisions of this
chapter, where not inconsistent with this section,
shall apply.
Section 2. All other portions of Ordinance No. 2229
to the extent not inconsistent with this ordinance shall
continue in full force and effect.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect five (5) days after passage and publication by
posting as provided by law.
