Ordinance 2321MAE:Ic 9/28/82 ORDINANCE NO. 2321 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, LEVYING THE GENERAL TAXES FOR THE CITY OF EDMONDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1983, ON ALL PROP- ERTY, BOTH REAL AND PERSONAL, IN SAID CITY WHICH IS SUBJECT TO TAXATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING SUFFICIENT REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS OF SAID CITY FOR THE ENSUING YEAR AS REQUIRED BY LAW, AND RELEVYING AN ADDITIONAL REGULAR TAX ON SAID PROPERTY FOR THE PROVISION OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds having considered the City's anticipated financial require- ments for 1983, and the amounts necessary and available to be raised by ad valorem taxes on real, personal and utility property, and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2094, passed by the City Council on September 11, 1979, and approved by the voters at a special election held November 6, 1979, directs that an additional regular tax on all property in the City shall be collected for the provision of emergency medical care and services, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. There shall be and hereby is levied on all real, personal, and utility property in the City of Ed- monds, subject to taxation, current taxes for the ensuing year commencing January 1, 1983, the sum of $1,732,174 which is $1.6675 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation levied on property with an estimated assessed valuation of approximately $1,038,775,685 of all said taxable property, for the Current Expense Funds and for the Firemen's Pension Fund as may be necessary to maintain the actuarial soundness of said Firemen's Pension Fund, if any be needed. Section 2. In addition to the above levies for the ensuing fiscal year of 1983, there shall be and is hereby levied current taxes of $201,936 , which is approx- imately .25 dollars per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation levied on property with an estimated assessed valuation of $1,038,775,685 of all said taxable property, the purpose of which is to fund the provision of emergency medical care and services. Section 3. This Ordinance shall be certified to the proper County Officials, as provided by law, and taxes here levied shall be collected to pay to the Finance Director of the City of Edmonds at the time and in the manner provided by the laws of the State of Washington for the collection of taxes for non -chartered code cities. -2- Section 4.
