ORDINANCE NO. 2330
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH-
INGTON, AMENDING SECTION 18.95.020A(2) OF
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CODE PERMITTING
SATISFACTION OF UP TO FIFTY (50%) PERCENT
OF OFF-STREET PARKING SPACE REQUIREMENTS BY
SPACES FOR COMPACT CARS.
WHEREAS, on October 27, 1982 the Edmonds Planning
Board held a public hearing to consider the appropriate
percentage by which the off-street parking requirements may
be satisfied with compact car spaces and, after receiving
public input and reviewing several actual use studies and
supporting research the Planning Board recommended that such
percentage be set at fifty (50%) percent, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the
best interest of the public safety and general welfare that
the code be amended to increase the percentage for compact
cars in off-street parking lots from twenty-five (25%)
percent to fifty (50%) percent, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Section 18.95.020A(2) is hereby amended
amended to read as follows:
2. Compact Cars. Minimum standards for compact car
spaces shall not be less than as shown on Figure 18-
2, MINIMUM PARKING LOT REQUIREMENTS FOR ONE- AND
TWO-WAY TRAFFIC, TABLE FOR COMPACT CARS. The minimum
compact car dimensions, as set forth in Figure 18-2,
may be used in all zoning classifications for up to

500 of the off-street parking spaces required by
zoning ordinance.
Section 2: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
