ORDINANCE NO. 2355
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 5.21.010(A) OF THE EDMONDS CITY
CODE RELATING TO THE CRIME OF OBSTRUCTING A PUBLIC
OFFICER.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 5.21.010(A) of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
5.21.010 OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE
Any person violating any of the following provisions is guilty of
a misdemeanor.
A. Obstructing Public Officer. Every person who makes an untrue
statement with intent to mislead or deceive a public officer
in the performance of his or her official duties, or who
willfully hinders, delays or obstructs in the discharge of
his or her official powers or duties, any public officer; or
Section 2. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase or
word of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconsti-
tutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or
unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitu-
tionality of any other section, clause or phrase of this
ordinance.
Section 3. The penalty for violation of this ordinance
shall be as set forth in Section 5.45.020 of the Edmonds City
Code as now enacted or as subsequently amended.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting as
provided by law.
