ORDINANCE NO. 2376
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH-
INGTON, AMENDING SECTION 8.16.030(4) OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE CHANGING THE SPEED LIMIT ON
A CERTAIN PORTION OF MAIN STREET.
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a report from
the City Engineer and Chief of Police concerning appropriate
speed for vehicular traffic on Main Street from the Five
Corners area to the 900 block of Main Street where the speed
limit is now posted at 35 mph, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that a reduction in
the speed limit on said portion of Main Street to 30 mph
would be more consistent with the 30 mph and 25 mph limits on
adjoining segments of Main Street therefore enhancing
enforcement and reducing the probability of accidents, now,
therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Subsection 8.16.030(4) of the Edmonds
City Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
4. Main Street, 5 corners
to 770 feet east of
9th Avenue 30 mph all times
Section 2. All other subsections of Section 8.16.030
shall not be affected by this ordinance and shall remain
unaltered in full force and effect.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
