ORDINANCE NO. 2382
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHING -
TON, ESTABLISHING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION
FOR CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IMMEDIATELY
ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF EDMONDS AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds is authorized by
RCW 35A.14.330 to prepare a proposed zoning regulation to
become effective upon annexation of any area which might
reasonably be expected to be annexed by the City of Edmonds
at any future time, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the area located
in Snohomish County immediately adjacent to the Edmonds City
limits which is generally north of 220th Street SW and
between 93rd Place West and 86th Place West is an area which
might reasonably be expected to be annexed by the City of
Edmonds at any future time, and
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds has received written
notices of intention to commence annexation proceedings from
various property owners in the subject area pursuant to
RCW 35A.14.120 and that a number of these proceedings are
currently pending with the City of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds has created its Planning
Board pursuant to Chapter 35A.63 RCW and the Planning Board
has held a public hearing on this proposed zoning regulation
on June 8, 1983, after giving notice of the time and place
thereof by publication in the Western Sun edition of the
Herald, and recommended to the City Council that the subject
area be zoned RS-8, and
WHEREAS, the City Council, pursuant to notice of time
and place published in the Western Sun edition of the Herald,
held a public hearing on July 19, 1983, at which time, after
giving all members of the public an opportunity to speak, the
City Council considered the findings of fact, conclusions and
recommendation of the Planning Board, and
WHEREAS, the responsible official has issued a
declaration of nonsignificance in compliance with the State
Environmental Policy Act and the City Council concurs that
there will be no significant adverse environmental impact as
a result of this proposal, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The zoning classification of property
generally located between 218th Street SW and 220th Street SW
between 93rd Place West and 86th Place West and as more
particularly described on Exhibit A, attached hereto and
incorporated herein as if set forth in full, shall be RS-8 as
defined by the Edmonds Community Development Code.
Section 2. The zoning classification established by
this ordinance shall become operative with respect to the
property described herein if and when such property, or each
portion thereof if any, is duly annexed to the City of

Edmonds, provided this ordinance has first become effective
as provided in Section 4 of this ordinance.
Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to send a
certified copy of this ordinance together with Exhibit A
which is a certified copy of a map of the subject area to the
Snohomish County Auditor for recording and filing.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
