ORDINANCE NO. 2393
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTION 8.60.010 OF THE
EDMONDS CITY CODE RELATING TO PENALTIES FOR
TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS.
WHEREAS, certain traffic violations were made to be
civil infractions in conformance with state law by Section 4
of Ordinance No. 2187, passed by the City Council on
December 30, 1980, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Section 8.60.010
should be amended to make reference to such traffic
infractions, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 8.60.010 of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
8.60.010 PENALTIES
Any person who has been found to have committed a traffic
infraction, as defined by this code and any statute adopted
by reference herein, or is convicted of violating or failing
to comply with any of the criminal provisions of this title
and any criminal statute adopted by reference herein, shall
pay a monetary penalty, if an infraction, or be guilty of a
misdemeanor and be punished, if a crime, as provided in the
Edmonds City Code, Section 5.45.020.
Section 2. This amendment is not intended nor shall
be interpreted to in any way affect Section 4 of Ordinance
No. 2187, passed by the City Council on December 30, 1980,
and that ordinance shall continue and remain in full force
and effect.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
