ORDINANCE NO. 2407
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHING -
TON, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP ADOPTED
BY SECTION 18.50.010 OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE
BY REDUCING THE PROPOSED RIGHT-OF-WAY OF
VIEWLAND WAY AND CHANGING THE PROPOSED CUL-DE-
SAC TO A HAMMERHEAD TURNAROUND, CITY FILE NO.
ST-1-83.
WHEREAS, the Edmonds Hearing Examiner has held a
public hearing regarding an amendment to the Official Street
Map in conjunction with a subdivision, City File No. P-5-83
and has forwarded his findings, conclusions and
recommendations to the City Council, and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on
August 2, 1983 at which time all members of the public were
given an opportunity to speak, and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after giving due considera-
tion to the recommendation of the Hearing Examiner, the
comments made by the interested parties in this matter, and
the existing neighborhood and projected traffic conditions,
finds the proposed amendment to the Official Street Map to be
in the best interests of the public health, safety and general
welfare, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the following
amendment will have no significant adverse environmental
impacts, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Official Street Map, adopted by
Section 18.50.010 of the Edmonds City Code, as amended, is
hereby further amended to reduce the proposed right-of-way for
Viewland Way from 60' to 35' and to change the proposed cul-
de-sac to a hammerhead shaped turnaround, as more particularly
described on Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated in
full herein by this reference.
Section 2. The City Engineer is hereby authorized and
directed to amend the Official Street Map to depict the
revisions as set forth in Section 1 above.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
