Ordinance 2411ORDINANCE NO. 2411 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASH- INGTON, ESTABLISHING THE SALARY RANGES AND SALARIES FOR EXEMPT PERSONNEL AND THOSE NONREPRESENTED, NONEXEMPT PERSONNEL AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 2380 WHEREAS, after review and discussion the City Coun- cil has determined, upon recommendation of the Mayor and Staff, to adjust the salary ranges for exempt personnel and for the nonrepresented, nonexempt personnel to allow for a 3.0 percent salary increase effective January 1, 1984 as well as periodic merit adjustments, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. On and after January 1, 1984, the Mayor's salary shall be $3,250.00 per month. Section 2. The following department heads, depart- mental assistants and other exempt classification positions as defined and designated in the City of Edmonds Salary Admin- istration Manual shall receive salaries within the ranges as set forth on Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference as if set forth in full. Section 3. The salary range for nonexempt, non - represented personnel shall be as set forth on Exhibit B, attached hereto and incorporated by this reference as if set forth in full. Section 4. The salary for exempt personnel and nonrepresented, nonexempt personnel may be adjusted by the Mayor up to the full performance level for the employee's grade as set forth on Exhibit A and B of this ordinance. The first adjustment may be made sir, months after date of employ- ment and thereafter annually from the date of the last adjust- ment. After an exempt employee has reached the full per- formance level of his or her salary range for the particular grade, annual adjustments may be made by the Mayor not to exceed, four (4) percent in any one year, up to the maximum salary specified for that grade. Merit adjustments of depart- ment heads shall be approved by the Council. Provided, however, upon reclassification, the Mayor may make salary adjustments within the range extablished for that grade. Effective January 1, 1984, all exempt personnel and all nonrepresented, nonexempt personnel shall receive a salary increase of 3.0 percent which shall not be considered in com- puting the maximum percentage limits set forth herein. Section 5. The Mayor or designee is authorized to adopt administrative rules to effectuate adjustments to full performance level. Section 6. The City shall pay 80 percent of the premiums due on and after April 1, 1982, for medical, dental, and vision insurance covering a department head, other exempt employee, or a nonexempt employee who is unrepresented. Such employee shall be responsible for the remaining 20 percent of such premium. - 2 - Section 7. Ordinance No. 2380, passed by the City Council on July 12, 1983, and all other inconsistent ordinances are hereby repealed. Section 8. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days after passage and publication by post- ing as provided by law. APPROVED: MAYOR, H. H.
