ORDINANCE NO. 2415
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHING -
TON, AMENDING SECTIONS 5.45.020 AND 5.42.200
OF THE EDMONDS CITY CODE CONCERNING PENALTIES
FOR UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF LIBRARY BOOKS,
JUMPING ON OR OFF MOVING TRAIN, UNFAIR HOUSING
VIOLATIONS AND PARK REGULATIONS VIOLATIONS.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that jail penalties
are not warranted for the unlawful possession of library
books, jumping on or off moving train, unfair housing and park
regulations violations, and therefore the jail penalty should
be eliminated for these offenses, now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 5.45.020(E)(6) and 5.45.020(E)(7)
of the Edmonds City Code are hereby repealed and a new Section
5.45.020(E)(6) is hereby added to read as follows:

Section 2. Section 5.45.020(E)(8) of the Edmonds
City Code is hereby renumbered as 5.45.020(E)(7).
Section 3. Section 5.45.020(E) of the Edmonds City
Code is hereby amended to add subsections (8), (9) and (10) to
read as follows:

Section 4. Section 5.42.200 of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby repealed and a new Section 5.42.200 is hereby added
to read as follows:
5.42.200 Penalties
A person convicted of a violation of this
chapter shall be punished by a fine as set
forth in Section 5.45.020 of the Edmonds City
Code.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
