ORDINANCE NO. 2418
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHING -
TON, AMENDING SECTION 8.64.010 OF THE EDMONDS
CITY CODE PROVIDING FOR ONE WAY TRAFFIC ON THE
ALLEY BETWEEN SECOND AND THIRD AVENUE FROM BELL
TO EDMONDS STREET.
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing and
received testimony from property owners along the alley that
runs from Bell to Edmonds Street between Second and Third
Avenue as well as testimony from the City Engineer, all of
which established a need for limiting the traffic on such
alley to a northerly direction due to safety and traffic
congestion reasons, now, therefore,
Section 1. Section 8.64.010 of the Edmonds City Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
8.64.010 SCHEDULE I - ONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS
In accordance with Section 8.32.030 and when
properly signposted, traffic shall move only in the
direction indicated upon the following streets and
alleys:
NAME OF STREET
1. Caspers Street from Sunset
to a point 90 feet east of
Sunset.
2. Second Avenue North from a
point 115 feet south of
Caspers to Caspers.
3. Sunset from Edmonds to
Caspers.
DIRECTION OF
TRAFFIC MOVEMENT
Easterly
Northerly
Northerly
4. Bell Street from Fifth
-Avenue North easterly 165
feet on the north side
of the traffic island. Westerly
5. Bell Street from Fifth
Avenue North easterly 150
feet on the south side
of the traffic island. Easterly
6. Alley that runs from Bell
to Edmonds street between
Third and Second Avenue. Northerly
Section 2. The City Engineer is hereby directed to
post signs in conspicuous locations on the alley in question
consistent with this ordinance.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting
as provided by law.
