ORDINANCE NO. 2479
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHING -
TON AMENDING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CODE BY
THE ADOPTION OF A NEW CHAPTER 19.95 RELATING TO
BARRIER FREE DESIGN STANDARDS AND FIXING A TIME
WHEN THE SAME SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, Chapter 70.92 RCW requires that cities adopt
standards for making buildings and facilities accessable to and
usable for the physically handicapped or elderly, and
WHERAS, standards for such barrier free design are
adopted under the provisions of said Chapter 70.92 RCW and
Chapter 51-10 of the Washington Administrative Code. Now,
therefore,
FOLLOWS:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS
Section 1. That the Community Development Code is
hereby amended by the addition of a new Chapter 19.95 to read as
follows:
19.95.000 The Barrier Free Design Standards
promulgated by the Department of Community Affairs in
conformance with the provisions of Chapter 70.92 RCW
and Chapter 51.10 of the Washington Administrative Code
as the same exist or hereafter amended are adopted as
the City's barrier free design standards and are
incorporated by this reference as fully as if herein
set forth.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting as
provided by law.
