ORDINANCE NO. 2496
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING CHAPTER 8.52 RELATING TO RESIDENTIAL
PARKING ZONE REGULATIONS TO ADD A NEW SECTION
PROHIBITING THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS TO COMMER-
CIAL VEHICLES AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME
SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE
WHEREAS, residential parking zone permits were
established to provide parking priviledges for residents in order
to assure reasonable parking at or near their residence, and
WHEREAS, a request has been received for issuance of a
residential parking permit with relation to a commercial vehicle
in excess of 10,000 pounds, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds deems
it inappropriate to issue residential parking permits for large
commercial vehicles, now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 8.52 Residential Parking Zone
Regulations is amended by the addition of a new Section 8.52.015
relating to limitation on the issuance of permits to read as
follows:
8.52.015 Limitation on Issuance.
No permit authorized to be issued under this Chapter
shall be issued with respect to any commercial vehicle
over 10,000 pounds licensed gross vehicle weight.

Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days after passage and publication by posting as
provided by law.
