Chair Report
• Jerry reported that the Memorial Day drive -through event went very well. 47 cars and 1 person in a
wheelchair with a dog attended. Many of the cars had 2 or more passengers. Jerry reviewed the event
and we all shared our thoughts. We have leftover programs from the event, some of which will be given
to Cliff to give out as promotional materials for the cemetery. We all felt that Cole - Cliff's helper - did a
magnificent job in setting up and helping during and after the drive -through.
Finance Report:
No financial reports to review.
Staff Report:
• Kim reported that there have been quite a few changes as of the first of the year on prices at the
cemetery, including a price increase for weekend burials. Angie said she will research how prices are
set for the cemetery and report back to us at next month's board meeting.

Old Business: Walk -Back -In -Time 2021 Planning
• Betty - Betty has written an excellent article on WW1 and the influenza pandemic of 1918 and its
effects in Edmonds. She has also written up information on several people who died of the 1918
pandemic and are buried at the cemetery. We are very grateful and thankful to Betty for all her work in
this and for providing us with the stories to be used for the Walk -Back -In -Time event this year.
• People chosen to feature for the event - The board decided to feature the following people buried at
the cemetery who died from the 1918 influenza: Luther Martin Freese, Betsey Anderson Johnson, John
Gustave Lambe, Mattie Cornelia Welbourn Otto, and Christopher Tuffied (C.T.) Roscoe.
• Jerry and Cliff will see if they can locate in the cemetery the burial places for the people on Betty's list.
Tracy will do an introduction at the beginning of the event for all those attending. Joan will contact
Larry Vogel to see if he'd like to be one of the featured people - probably Luther Martin Freese. Joan
and Ashley will take care of contacting the Driftwood Players to see if we can borrow some of their
costumes, and also if any of their actors would like to take part in the event. Joan is to let us know by
June 25t" if any of their actors are interested. It was also decided to have at each of the gravesites the
person acting the part and a second person to keep track of the time and guide people to move on to the
next grave in the event.
Publicity - Betty will have an article to be put in our spotlight area in My Edmonds News. Jerry will
contact the Beacon and Channel 21. Ashley will use Betty's article to write up a press release. Kim will
handle getting the press release to the local media. The press release information can also be used to
create flyers.
Next board meeting - we will finalize everything for the event at our next board meeting on July 15tn,
2021.
