Old Business: Final Planning for the 2021 Walk -Back -In -Time Event
Melissa will contact Betty and have her send her write up for My Edmonds News in a Word file so that
the information can be used to make up 50 handouts to give to those who attend the event. Melissa will
also bring water bottles for the attendees.
People chosen to feature for the event - Larry Vogel will be Luther Martin Freese; Kerry Radley will
be Betsey Anderson Johnson; Ashley Robinson will represent John Gustave Lambe; Joan Longstaff will
be Mattie Cornelia Welbourn Otto; Dave Little will be Christopher Tuffied (C.T.) Roscoe. The Driftwood
Players will donate costumes to those who would like them. It was decided that each "actor" will have
about 10 minutes to tell the story of the person they are representing - 7 minutes for the story and 3
minutes for questions and answers.
Tracy will begin the event with a brief explanation and a history at the flagpole. She will also check if
she can obtain a microphone to use. Tracy and Melissa will keep people moving. Kim will confirm that
Cliff has located and marked the graves in questions.
• Kim reported that the publicity got out to the various media outlets.
New Business:
Angie reported that she has been researching on how prices are set for burials, niches, services, etc., for
the cemetery. She is still researching on how this has been done and how it needs to be done, including
how the board fits in with this. She will report on this at our next meeting in August.
The board decided to have our next meeting in person, instead of by Zoom. Angie shared the city's
policy on meetings at this point in time, considering the CDC's, and the governor's, guidelines. Kim and
Jerry will co-ordinate with the Anderson Center and the Edmonds Library for an available meeting
room for our August meeting.
Next month, the board will review the Walk Back In Time event, begin focusing on the history of the
cemetery, and discuss Angie's report of how pricing is done for the cemetery.
Announcements:
• Angie announced that she will be out of town on August 19th, and won't be able to attend.
• Melissa announced that she'd like to bring to our September board meeting information she has been
storing on the cemetery - history, etc. - for us to go through.
Adjournment:
The meeting was adjourned at 4:58pm.
Next Meeting: Our next regular board meeting is at 4pm, Thursday, August 19, 2021, in person.
