Roth OCT City of Edmonds — Storm water Engineer 121 5t' Ave. North ENGINEERING 01V1SI01 Edmonds, Wash. 98020 RE: Alley Drainage for Surface and Groundwater Dear Mr.oth; It was our understanding that when the drainage project in the alley between Glen Street and Daley Street was completed, the surface where the trench for drainage pipe was dug would be restored to its original grass condition. The workers who replaced the pavement in the alley did a good job and it's as good as new. However, much of the grass seed that was laid down has not taken root in several spots. Our neighbors two doors down from us to the west have laid beauty bark down on their portion of the alley eliminating any need for grass, there. We request that you restore these dirt areas to their original grassy condition. If done soon, there is enough good weather left to get a good start on the growth. I will commit to watering I until the rains begin on a regular basis. Additionally, we know that you are aware of the ponding that occurs on the north side of Daley Street when it rains which you addressed in your letter to us on May 2, 2006. You mentioned that you -"anticipate that -overall construction for this project (Citywide Strom Improvements Project) will begin in September,.though we do not know when the contractor would 'start on the Daley Street portion of the project." As the rainy .season is rapidly approaching and we face the prospect of more flooding in our basement, we would appreciate knowing when the improvements will begin so that we can plan accordingly. Yours truly, Jeff Mackey and Sonia Nelson b ADDITIONAL DOCUMENT TO MACKEY PLANS PLAN CHECK #02-294 In regards to the drainage easement agreement dated April 175 2003, the Mackeys agree to convert this temporary agreement to a permanent easement.recorded in Snohomish County after the pipe has been laid and before final - y:: a; / r l / F In addition, the Mackeys agree with city requirements that no rockery will be used in the alley to support mounding. 04 10t5l .003 STREET F/(E 3 2003 0EVEL0PwMT'- CITY OF EDMalloSS CTR.
