Administration
• Minutes: Greg moved to approve the minutes as written. BLANK seconded. Motion passed.
• Agenda: Laura moved to approve the agenda as written. Greg seconded. Motion passed.
• Financials: Reviewed revenues and expenses for adult delegation visit
Continuing Business:
• Chaperone recruitment: two candidate applications have been received. Greg and Laura will
schedule interviews. Deadline was extended to 2/11/19 and any other applications received will
be interviewed as well.
• Student recruitment: District has approved eblast, poster and flier for distribution at schools.
Posters were passed out for distribution to schools. Carolyn will send to private schools and post
information on Facebook page.
• Assistant Language Teacher: Hekinan information regarding ALT position was shared and the
Commission voted to continue with the program. Carolyn will move forward with updating the
application, sending to colleges, sending a press release to the media, and getting information
on the website and Facebook. Application deadline is set for March 29, 2019.
• Student Exchange pamphlet updates: Carolyn will work with printer on updating the pamphlet
and getting them ordered.
New Business:
• 2019 Officers: Karyn offered to continue as Chair, Laura stepped down as co-chair and offered to
become secretary. Commission voted and passed slate of candidates for 2019.
• 2019 Retreat: Commission discussed whether a retreat was necessary. It was decided it wasn't
and the Commission voted to not hold a 2019 retreat.
