• Financials: No update from last month. We have forfeited the $5,000 budget item for 2021, like
we did in 2020.
New Business:
• OPMA training

o The state has mandated that commissioners complete the training once every
four years.
o Please document the completion of the course and send to Carolyn.
o It is a helpful course to understand what is required and best practices for
running, attending, or attaining access to public meetings.
o Please complete by our February meeting.
Continuing Business:
• 2021 Student Exchange Discussion
o Hekinan has met and cancelled the delegation for 2021.
o They would like to discuss the idea of doing some form of virtual connection over the
year.
o It's important that we develop a creative way to maintain our relationship while being
respectful of their decision.
• 2021 Reappointments: we have confirmed the following reappointments.
o Michele Fellows
o Greg Lange
o Gillian Lim
o Karyn Heinekin
o Gabe Longoria
New commissioner training
o Carolyn has been working with Development Services on standard training for all boards
and commissions. We will wait to see what groundwork is established, and then
finetune training for new commissioners coming on board.
