New Business:
1. Brainstorm ideas for virtually connecting w/Hekinan this year
o Hekinan is open for a virtual exchange this year.
o Unsure about the time difference for live interactions
o Ideas:
■ pen pals
■ videos shared on YouTube/Facebook/Commission Pages
■ sharing videos/photos of seasons
■ sharing events and news
■ recruit younger students who are interested in future delegations
■ bringing on board past delegates — start with adults who can build the
momentum and excitement
■ Virtual zoom party to gather ideas of what would garner interest
■ Possibly build a video of a native story teller
■ Reach out to Michelle Rockstead to potentially translate
2. Brainstorm ideas for local promotion of Commission
o Michelle and Carolyn have discussed that we could get back to pieces about our
commissioners in the media (website, Facebook, etc). Make people more
knowledgeable about who is involved and that we are still an active group.
o Edmonds Beacon website and print. We could share information about what is going on
in Japan.
o Collaborate with the Youth Commission as to what would be interesting from their
perspective.
Continuing Business:
