• Virtually Connecting with Hekinan
o Still on target for August 28t" at 9:00—10:OOpm
o Video Presentation
■ People liked the idea of the dogs and people, less of gardens and scenic shots.
■ Considering the idea of having someone be a guide of the video, primarily a
voice of the video.
• Considering interviewing people to be the voice of the video.
• Adding closed captions as a way for those with hard hearing.
• Verbal would be in Japanese, captions in English.
o Zoom Meeting Logistics
■ Gillian and Carolyn met today to discuss this. They feel comfortable hosting a
meeting (vs a webinar). Hekinan is putting it out there to the general public, we
(Edmonds) are focusing on past students, delegates, and commissions. Carolyn
will specify who we are inviting and anyone interested in coming should contact
her.
■ Agenda
• Hosts join at 8:30, open meeting at 8:45 with a slideshow so people can
watch something as they join. All Commissioners will be hosts.
o We will want to make sure we do not let people in if they do not
have a name written for their entry.
o Carolyn can work on the slideshow and will contact Hekinan for
their share of photos.
• Begin with an introduction from Mayor Nelson (he is unsure if he will be
attending)
• We will play a quick game. The game in mind is Just Like Me. Videos are
off, and when a question is asked that applies to them if the statement
applies to them. Rae can facilitate the game and Gillian will write the
script.
• Watch video #1, then facilitate a trivia. We can run a poll out of Zoom
(Laura can test this out to Gillian, will want to test with mobile)
o Videos should be coming from straight from file vs YouTube to
limit any streaming or connection issues.
o Gillian and Carolyn will likely host the meeting from the City
offices.
• Watch video #2, then facilitate the other trivia.
• Closing: Greg would speak for the Edmonds side, Hekinan would speak
for their side.
■ Timeline:
• Now and mid -July: Collecting videos/photos
• Mid July/late July: Create content
• August 23rd meeting: Dry run practice
• OPMA training
