meeting with two revisions.

Motion carried unanimously.
III. PUGET SOUND REGIONAL COUNCIL PRESENTATION
The Puget Sound Regional Council came and gave a presentation about plans for the city of
Edmonds by the year 2050. The presentation began with a brief overview about what the Puget
Sound Regional Council (henceforth PSRC) does: "develops policies and coordinates decisions
about regional growth, transportation, and economic development planning within King, Pierce,
Snohomish, and Kitsap counties." The presenters shared that by 2050, the Puget Sound region is
expecting a growth of 1.8 million more people and 1.2 million new jobs and that the purpose of
the PSRC is to manage that growth by working with counties, cities, and other groups like the
Edmonds Youth Commission to effectively plan for the future. The Commission split into
breakout rooms which identified the desires of Edmonds' youth that would help the PSRC staff
effectively manage the future growth of the region. The presenters concluded the meeting by

asking the commission members what new information they learned or what they are excited to
see in future Edmonds.
IV. REVIEWING MY EDMONDS NEWS COLUMN
Since the last draft of our column for My Edmonds News was voted on, we discussed whether or
not to address the concerns raised by Council regarding the pronouns request. It was decided
that it would be best to discuss the additional revisions during a meeting.
We should include our Instagram account at the bottom of the column for Edmonds
residents to follow.
Mayor Nelson would like to be referred in full support of the request. Perhaps we should
also include that the Council voted in support of the request?
We shouldn't respond to the concerns Council raised because there is no need to
include that. MEN asked for an educational column, and this addition would add
confusion or conflict to the request when it is unnecessary.
Our alterations will include just adding the Instagram account and mentioning that Mayor
Nelson is in full support of it. It is important to note that there will be pushback and criticism in
the MEN comments section, and it is best that we don't respond. Other community members
might take the time to respond to these criticisms.
Chair Owen Lee moved to add the PROS Plan Representative selection as an agenda item before
the final comments.
Brooke Rinehimer seconded the motion.
Motion passed unanimously.
