Edmonds Memorial Cemetery Board Meeting Minutes
Call to Order:
Jerry called the meeting to order at 4:03pm

Approval of Minutes: October 21, 2021 regular board meeting minutes unanimously approved.
Chair Report:
Jerry announced the main focus of this board meeting will be the booklet on the history of the Edmonds
Cemetery.
Finance Report:
Angie announced that the cemetery accounts all look very healthy. Jerry asked Angie if the board can be
provided with the annual costs of running the cemetery.
Jerry mentioned that we need to discuss adding the names of the current board members to the marker at
the cemetery.
Melissa brought up adding the Memorial Gift Fund to the transaction summary on the financial report.
Staff Report:
• Rich shared that everything has been running very well all year at the cemetery. However, the major wind
storm created a big mess at the cemetery, but that has all been cleaned up. All the flags were put up for
Veterans Day and all looked very nice.

Old Business:
Election of Officers for 2022: The board elected the following to be officers for 2022: President - Tracy
Little; Vice President - Melissa Johnson; Secretary - Kerry Radley. Jerry made the motion and Joan
seconded it.
Review of Cemetery History booklet: Jerry reviewed what he, Ashley and Tracy, along with help from
Betty Gaeng, had been doing on the draft for the booklet. Prior to this meeting, a copy of the latest draft
had been emailed to the board members. The board discussed the latest draft. Ashley will handle the
formatting of the booklet to get it ready to print. Betty will make any corrections to the timeline and then
pass them along to Tracy, who will pass them along to Ashely. Jerry will send photos to go into the booklet
to Ashley. Kerry will do a final proof read after Ashley is finished. It was decided to get a photo shoot of
Cliff. We discussed how many booklets to print up and to have the Branding Iron do the printing.
New Business:
• Walk Back In Time - Betty suggested doing early pioneers in Edmonds who are buried at the cemetery.
She has 5 candidates in mind and will send us information on these people.
• Melissa asked us to think over the holidays about the Memorial Day event and whether or not the event
should remain in the same format as usual or if some changes should be made.
Announcements:
• Angie presented a plaque from Mayor Mike Nelson and the City of Edmonds to Jerry to acknowledge and
thank him for his many years of service on the Edmonds Cemetery Board. Jerry is stepping down after 7
years of service, but will be available to help out as needed.
• Ashley announced that her work may be transferring her early next year to Germany. She will keep us
abreast of this as she gets more information.
