1. Colin and Yuri introduced themselves to the Commission
Continued Business:
1. Virtual meet -up
• Set for Friday night 9/30 at 8 pm in Edmonds / Saturday 10/1 in Hekinan
• To include middle/high school students and adults
• Ideas:
o Favorite things
o Former chaperones meet with small groups for Q&A
o Will need translators in break-out rooms
o Have Mayor's create a "coming attractions" type video that can be sent out 2-
weeks prior to event to create excitement
o Need to think of some ways to make it more interactive
• Need to start recruiting former students. Check w/Michele first to see if she has started
this process. Carolyn has a spreadsheet of contact info for past participants.
• Hekinan to start advertising for participants
2. Adult exchange
• Still awaiting Hekinan response
• If on then Edmonds will visit Hekinan in late March/early April and Hekinan will visit
Edmonds in late October/early November
• Smaller group than before
• Katy, Karyn, Colin, Greg, Rae, lyoko and Anne are interested in going
3. Summer Market Booth
• Two dates; July 9 and August 27
• Please sign-up to man booth via link Rae sent
Announcements:
1. Meetings will move to in -person in June. If unable to attend in -person, you can phone in. Please
contact Carolyn prior to the meeting to make arrangements.
2. Looking at setting up displays at Graphite and the Waterfront Center
3. Colin asked about training and notebook. Carolyn will provide notebook and will send along
OPMA training info
